Rejuvenate : Day 24

Rejuvenate.

October 30 morning.
Can you hear the waterfalls in the distance? Or even imagine hearing them, as I cannot post the video here, only a still.
Early mornings and nightfalls allow our ears to pick up the pristine distant sound of water meandering through the rocky old growth forest, down the rugged mountain slopes on both West and East sides of the Valley. Waterfalls in stereo.

Ancient waterways, feeding all life forms on Earth, in nurturing habitats. Continuous, unless humans intervene.. as they already have, for the past 100 years...
To clearcut these habitats, our old growth tree relatives, ancient beings who have existed far longer than any human alive, longer than our grandparents and great grandparents.. imagine. Just think..

It is homicide, ecocide, a dire crime inflicted by human hand, affecting all life forms.

Sadly, the very loggers slashing down these ancient, cooling, tempered rainforests so to cash a meagre check to feed their families ~ completely live in the moment, not grasping the consequences of their mindless actions, chainsaws in hand.

They refuse to understand: Each and every single old growth tree they fell, every ecosystem they bulldoze and burn ~ null the chance of survival for the very children they bear into this world, into their self inflicted climate crisis.

Worst: Once all the ancient old growth elder trees are soon gone, the forestry companies these eager loggers fell and saw for, will simply go out of business. The CEOs and owners cash in their millions, depart communities and leave behind deserts and a climate out-of-control.

Result: No more logging jobs, crumbling communities. We witnessed that exact scenario in our very own small Northern Ontario community.

Governments must stop subsidies to fossil fuel producing oil and gas corporations, to carbon releasing, excessively extracting forestry companies.
We must demand it.

Governments must invest in sustainable jobs and industries now, immediately, before it is too late.

Water Bearer. Water bearing one
Water bearing one. Water bearing one

I was born under the sign of the sun
Water bearer. Water bearing one
My mama was young and the skies were rocking
On the day that I first saw the light
Water bearer. Water bearing man
With the dusty heart of a beggar woman
I'm following you by moonlight
Water-bearer. Water-bearing man
Now the rain's on fire through the redwood trees
I can feel your blood flowing in me.
Water-bearer. Water-bearing man
Water-bearer. Water-bearing man
Water-bearer. Water-bearing man

I was born under the sign of the sun
Water bearer. Water bearing one
My mama was young and the skies were rocking
On the day that I first saw the light
Water bearer. Water bearing man
With the dusty heart of a beggar woman
I'm following you by moonlight
Water-bearer. Water-bearing man
Now the rain's on fire through the redwood trees
I can feel your blood flowing in me.
Water-bearer. Water-bearing one
Water-bearer. Water-bearing one
Water-bearer. Water-bearing one

Feel like the dry Sahara sand
She cry for rain to cool the land
Cool the flame thats burning me
Cool the flame thats burning me
Oh! Water bearer. Water bearing one

It's dark on the mountain waiting for the sun,
The devil is sleeping and the lord of the light is waking
The dawn is slowly breaking
Hella Kiellessa niovya lo
He ana hella kielleya niova nya

And the morning comes so brave and free
And the clinging clouds they turn and flee
There's a rising wind and it's taking me
Ella galalea kolotya lo
He ana hella kielessa niova nya
It's written on walls of stone in starlight
"There is a path across the night"

It's dark on the mountain waiting for the sun,
